Policeman Pavel Kravtsov is a rather strange man. If he has to handcuff someone, he apologizes and asks if it's too tight. He is ambitious, but honest; he is young, but thoughtful. With such inclinations, you won't make a career in the city police. So, a thoroughly city man, Senior Lieutenant Kravtsov ends up in the remote village of Anisovka as an ordinary district police officer.
Something like exile or a not very honorable assignment. And then there's the quarrel with his wife because she doesn't understand Kravtsov's devotion to his profession, when the profession (in the person of his superiors) doesn't really stick by him...
Leaving everything behind and taking with him only his beloved dog Caesar, a bloodhound, Kravtsov arrives in Anisovka and begins to settle in the village...
