Plot synopsis

Anatoli Grebnev is one of the emblematic screenwriters of our cinema. He would have been one hundred years old in 2023. He died before reaching his eighties.
Among his screenplays "July Rain" by Marlen Khoutsiev and "Secrets of St. Petersburg", one of the first series for Russian television. "Success" with Leonid Filatov, "Prokhindiada or Running on the Spot" with Alexander Kaliagin, "Diary of a School Principal" with Oleg Borissov. He worked with Yuli Raizman and Anatoly Efros, and left us his "Diary of the Last Screenwriter", a diary full of life and very topical. The peculiarity of Grebnev's fate is that he came to the cinema only 'in the middle of his life when he was already a mature adult. His childhood and youth were full of hopes and failures, love and losses... The film is not only about Grebnev's cinematic biography but also about that early life he gave up for cinema.
