Plot synopsis
During a fierce battle in the Afghan province of Bamiyan in
August 1982, a battalion of Soviet paratroopers suffers heavy
losses. Miraculously, they manage to escape the Dushman
ambush. A check of the personnel reveals that Private Ilshat
Garaykhanov is not among the living and the dead, he has gone
missing. In the course of recent search expeditions to
Afghanistan, it was possible to arrange a personal meeting
with the commander of the Mujahideen, who led that battle.
He reveals the drama of those events and gives details that
become a vivid addition to the memoirs of Ilshat Garaykhanov’s colleagues.
