“Dots, Lines and Zigzag” juxtaposes the reflections of Artavazd Peleshyan, the Soviet film director, on the structure of the Universe described in his book “My Universe and the Unified Field Theory”, and remounted episodes of Dubna Film Studio films shot by amateur directors and employees of the JINR. The juxtaposition of these materials happens through the Peleshyan’s method of distance montage, which, while preserving gaps and inconsistencies, allows you to poetically connect different types of amateurs. The central figure of the video is an amateur who acts from his/her own desire, and not from positions of expertise.
