The film was shot in Russia and Japan. The members of the film crew participated in this documentary, among them: Teruyo Nogami, living legend of cinema, national monument of Japan. Nogami-san worked with Kurosawa from 1952 and was his right-hand man until the master's death. Also participating in the film was Yuri Solomin, People's Artist of the Soviet Union, the main actor in the film "Dersu Uzala" who became and remained Akira Kurosawa's friend until his death.
