Released from the harsh regime camp in Dnepropetrovsk, Paradjanov returns to his family home in Tbilisi. He visits the grave of his mother, who died during his stay, and is then found among his family during a meal, finally retrieving personal items that his neighbors had put away in his absence. Shot by a very mobile camera, these images often linger on Paradjanov's face. His gaze is sometimes distant. He slaps his forehead, passes his hand over his face, on the verge of tears.
