Little is known about the life of the pioneer of Georgian animation. Vladimir (Lado) Mujiri was born on October 15, 1907, in the small town of Zugdidi in western Georgia. His career began in 1930 at "Goskinprom of Georgia" (now "Grouzia-film") where, for a few years, he produced propaganda cartoons, many of which were either not preserved or left unfinished due to lack of funding. Moudjiri moved into children's animation in the second half of the 1930s and continued to do so until his death in 1953.
