It seems to us that they have always been there – the stars, majestic and
overwhelming. Their ancient history is a succession of metamorphoses. From birth
to death, from catastrophe to transformation. Our reality is an echo of their
lives.
This film tells the story of the stars: from the very first star to the stars whose
light we now see in the night sky. We will learn how stars are born,
how they change over the course of their lives, and how they die. We shall see
magnificent, serene giants and turbulent, cold dwarfs. We shall fly
over the Sun’s surface and race through a solar prominence. We shall peer into
the previously unknown depths of the stars, into their hearts, filled with chemical
elements and light.
