A film adaptation of a Grain of Sand’s life on Earth. The film’s main character, an ordinary
quartz Grain of Sand, tells a gripping, mysterious story
of the birth of the Universe, the Solar System and the emergence of the planets, before
going on to recount her own birth and her adventures on Earth, which lead her to
a children’s sandpit. This is a poetic tale of a touching heroine who,
with curiosity, humour and mischief, travels through time and
space. She dreams of finding friends, but nobody notices her.
Together with the Grain of Sand, the viewer will find themselves inside a granite mountain and make friends
with the clouds. They will see what the world of plants and living creatures was like. They will make
friends at the bottom of a lake. They will discover the sorrows and joys of the human world.
The film’s central idea is to draw the viewer’s attention to the fact that even the
tiniest particles have a great history. They deserve
careful attention and respect.
‘The Story of a Grain of Sand’ is not merely a poetic tale of
a tiny particle’s journey through time and space. Behind the scenes
lies the painstaking work that transforms a beautiful concept into
a credible story based on real scientific data. Scientists – acting as
scientific consultants – also worked on the script. Their expertise
helped the author strike a balance between artistic fiction and
scientific accuracy.
