Our story is about those born to live in the wild. At the heart of the plot
is a female bear named Oursa and her world. We, the staff of the Altai Nature Reserve,
gathered data along the shores of Lake Teletskoye during our
daily work over many years; over time, the taiga ceased to be for us
merely a collection of individual animals of various species to be counted and protected. It
began to tell us its stories—sometimes moving, sometimes cruel, but
always authentic.
