In the summer of 2025, a group of volunteers travels to the Donbas on a humanitarian mission. Sergei leads the mission; his entire life revolves around expeditions to the front line.
Along the way, he meets a military doctor codenamed "The Storyteller." The doctor tells him about the Stone Desert—a place where life and death have swapped roles. The film shows that without faith in humanity's victory over death, we are condemned to live within the terrifying tale of the Stone Desert.
