It’s a lean year in the forest, and persecution by the predatory marten is forcing a family of squirrels to look for new places to live. A jay flying by tells them that across the river there is a forest rich in berries, mushrooms, and fir cones. The young squirrel, White-Nosed, sets off on a reconnaissance mission.
