Savva and Aglaia, a teenage brother and sister, live in the city and spend their time doing what they enjoy most. Savva is a fan of computer games and a constant bundle of energy. Aglaia is a young scientific genius who dreams of making a major discovery. They each have plans for the summer holidays: Savva wants to go to a gaming festival, whilst Aglaia wants to work on a project at a science camp. But one day, their plans come crashing down. As the siblings are constantly teasing each other, arguing about everything and unable to agree on anything, one day a disaster strikes, resulting in their flat being simultaneously flooded and engulfed in flames.
As punishment, their parents send the children to the village to stay with their grandparents. For Savva and Aglaia, this is a nightmare: they are used to having food delivered, entertainment, games and the internet, whereas in the village they face early mornings, working in the vegetable patch, being fed to the point of bursting, the bathhouse and a whole host of other rural ‘delights’.
