Much is known about Marina Tsvetaeva’s life; films have been made and books written. But it is only now, after the stipulated period has elapsed, that her ‘most private’ documents, letters and notes are being revealed. The film introduces viewers to the unique Prague archive of Marina Tsvetaeva and reconstructs that period of her life which, in the poet’s own words, was the finest both in her creative output and in her state of mind.
Filming took place in Prague, Horní Mokropsy, Dolní Mokropsy, Nové Dvory, the village of Jílovice and in Všenory. The addresses where the family lived and their homes in the suburbs have been preserved. It was here that Tsvetaeva wrote her famous lines about her late love.
