A simple guy Ruslan stands up for Lyudmila and spoils the plans of her father, Prince Vladimir, to marry his daughter to one of the worthy knights - Ragday, Ratmir or Farlaf. Against her father's will, Lyudmila falls in love with Ruslan, and he is enchanted by her. The insidious sorcerer Chernomor, with the help of a magic beard, kidnaps Lyudmila to take revenge on the prince for past grievances. Now Ruslan and three rival knights must overcome the difficult path to the sorcerer's castle, obtain the sword-kladenets, which is guarded by the head of the hero Svyatogor, and challenge Chernomor to free the beautiful Lyudmila.
