The wayward stove-maker Agniya lives in the Far North in a dilapidated house, catches fish in an ice hole and raises her son alone. Seasonal work does not allow her to save money for new housing, and the head of the local administration Boris is in no hurry to resettle people who are in dire need of it. Having agreed to Boris's offer to lay a stove in his house, Agniya uses the new "client" to achieve her main goal - to quickly move into the long-awaited living space. And she copes with this task in a very non-trivial way.
