The heroes of the film are yak herders from father to son, the Khumaevs from the Khongodor tribe. They live in the Okinsky district of the Republic of Buryatia. The 57-minute film is the first part of the project "Nomads of the Eastern Sayan". As Vyacheslav Stolyarov, the film's director, told us, the yak occupies an important place in the culture of Okinsky herders. For them, it is a sacred animal that personifies the connection with the spirits of the sky and mountains. The film crew recorded the main events in the life of nomads throughout the year.
