Plot synopsis

During the Russian Revolution and the Civil War — after a two-century-long interruption, the Russian Patriarchy was restored. The Russian Patriarch Tikhon (Belavin) started his sacred mission as a head of the Russian Orthodox Church and his tragic struggle against the Communists… He was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church as a saint only in 1989.
