Plot synopsis
In winter of 1929, an announcement about a mysterious murder of Ya. Slashov, former General of the White Army who voluntarily returned from emigration to Soviet Russia, appeared in «Pravda» newspaper. In M. Bulgakov’s piece «Beg» he is depicted under the name of General Khludov. Who was Ya. Slashov in reality? Why did a vehement White General returned to Soviet Russia? Who killed him and why?
