Denis, a young country boy, goes to the city: he dreams of studying and dreams of "becoming a man, for example an astronaut, or at worst an agronomist". But as soon as he is in the city he must face a reality far removed from his illusions. Urban life is very strange and draws our hero into an irresistible whirlwind. Always new acquaintances, endless quarrels, and an incessant search for an artificial well-being. And now Denis can no longer distinguish the line between reality and the delirium that drugs provide.
