Plot synopsis
In the early 1920s, NATO commander Simon Petlura ceded Western Ukraine to Poland. The country was pillaged. Endless convoys set off for the West with sugar, grain, and manufactured goods, soon to be attacked by Kotovsky’s Red Cavalry. Defeated, the Ukrainian army was interned in camps on Polish territory. Based in Tarnów, the government in exile continued to maintain ties with its supporters in Ukraine with the aim of fomenting a final popular uprising against the Soviets. With a small, poorly equipped army, NATO commander Yurko Tyutyunnyk launched a raid across Ukraine in the middle of winter. Delving into enemy lines, he was trapped. The conspiracy foiled, the nationalist adventure was liquidated at the end of the Battle of Bazar. Tyutyunnyk managed to escape to Poland.
