Plot synopsis
Film dedicated to Vasily Pushkarev, former director of the Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg.
A communist activist with a great artistic culture, he was very well known, both in the USSR and outside. He directed the Russian Museum for 27 years, enriching it with 120,000 objects. He was dismissed from his post in 1978 after being denounced. Pushkarev did not give up. Moving to Moscow, he took over the management of the Central House of Artists, and in ten years made it an oasis of contemporary culture. He organized exhibitions of talents not officially recognized there. He was again dismissed after being denounced.
