An experimental etude which was one of the first successful efforts to illustrate a musical piece. The musical score for the film was the manifest of the so called «musical technicism» – «Pacific 231» by Arthur Honegger. Later this experiment was repeated by the French director and film expert Jean Mitry in the film «Pacific 231», made in 1949.
