Mid-twentieth century. Hereditary surgeon Pavel Alekseevich Kukotsky is one of the most famous gynecologists of his time. Kukotsky developed an extensive program to combat illegal abortions and sought to repeal the 1936 decree banning abortions. However, society to this day does not have a unified opinion regarding the artificial termination of pregnancy. For some, it is the salvation of an unfortunate woman, for others, the murder of an unborn person. For the former, Kukotsky is a guardian angel, for the latter, a monster and murderer.
