Plot synopsis
Two close friends, Turiko and Mghelia, hunters from a Georgian village, fell in love with a girl named Mariko and became rivals. Mghelia suggested drawing lots: the winner would win Mariko’s love and would have to kill his rival. Turiko drew the lucky lot. The friends set off through the forest to the place where the agreement was to be carried out. But Turiko did not have to kill his former friend: Mgelia was attacked by a bear, and Turiko did not come to the aid of the man he was supposed to kill. However, upon returning to the village, he did not propose to Mariko — he had other things on his mind now. Exhausted by his emotional turmoil, the poor fellow, in a fit of madness, threw himself off a cliff.
