Plot synopsis

Based on the first part of P. Proskurin’s novel “Fate”. The 30s. The married chairman of a collective farm Zakhar Deryugin fell in love with young Manya Polivanova. Manya gives the birth to the son of him. Zakhar is excluded from the Communist party and lost his job. Deeply offended he suffers even more, because Manya decided to part with him and to educate her son independently. But the War is broken and Zakhar goes to the front …
