In the near future, Gappo, an elderly astronomer who has lost his job to robots equipped with artificial intelligence, lives alone, spending his days observing the cosmos and waiting for Betelgeuse to explode – an event that could become the greatest astronomical spectacle of the century.
His quiet life is turned upside down when he discovers Gogki, a curious robot guide, by the banks of a river. Together, they will have to complete the astronomical research to which the old man has devoted his entire life.
