Plot synopsis

The team behind the "Man and the Boat" project traveled to Chukotka to visit the local Inuit people and film the construction of a unique vessel: a *baidara* (skin boat) made of walrus hide. It was believed that the techniques for building a transport *baidara* had been lost. However, our film crew managed to find hunters who still remembered the skills of their ancestors. Viewers thus have a unique opportunity to discover every stage in the creation of a boat whose design dates back thousands of years. The boat-building process is incredibly complex. Constructing even a single vessel of this type requires months of preparation. And that is not all. The builders must risk their lives while hunting and contend with the whims of the weather— and even place their trust in higher powers.
An incredible journey awaits you—one after which you will never look at an ordinary boat the same way again.
