The late nineties. Best friends Misha and Taya dream of escaping their small coastal town, where the adults have long since decided what their future should look like. The feisty Misha falls in love with a new teacher, whilst the quiet Taya hides the fact that her parents are planning to marry her off to a foreigner to save the family.
