This four-part documentary explores the lives and artistic careers of four outstanding Russian avant-garde female artists: Lyubov Popova, Nadezhda Udaltsova, Olga Rozanova and Natalia Goncharova. Each episode is dedicated to one protagonist, who narrates her own story: of her childhood, education, choice of the avant-garde, successes and losses. Art historian Andrei Sarabyanov, a leading expert on the Russian avant-garde, has brought all four stories together into a single series.
