Long-distance lorry driver Vitya and his housewife wife Valya decide to settle once and for all who is in charge of the family. Valya and Vitya love each other, but raising three children, hard work and running the household have left both parents exhausted. Valya is the first to crack, feeling that her husband underestimates her contribution to the family. For his part, Vitya is convinced that his contribution to the family is the most important, and that his wife simply ‘looks after the house’. To resolve their differences, the couple are forced to swap roles — Valya gets behind the wheel of a KAMAZ lorry, whilst Vitya stays at home with the children and runs the household. Finding themselves in unfamiliar circumstances, the couple begin to realise that both are important to the family and that they must not underestimate each other’s hard work.
