Based on the novel "The Master of the Kõrboja Estate" by the Estonian writer and classic of Estonian literature Anton Hansen Tamsaare (1878-1940).
A film about the drama of two young people who are said to be "different from everyone else." Anna, the heiress to a wealthy estate, and Villu, a young man from the farmstead, are truly restless natures, least inclined to consider the opinions of their fellow villagers or respect family traditions. Both, on the same day, albeit separately, return to their family nests: Anna, having received an education in the city, and Villu, having served a prison sentence for murder in a brawl.
From their conversations, we learn the reason for Kyrboy's anxiety: the headstrong Anna plans to marry a dissolute farmer and make him the master of the estate. However, the lyrical dreams of the heiress Kyrboy are not destined to come true...
