In November, at the very start of the dreadful winter of 1941, as the stranglehold of the blockade tightened around Leningrad, a group of young bobsleigh athletes ventured out onto the thin, unfrozen ice. The mission to deliver ammunition turns into a rescue operation for the children of the orphanage who had not been evacuated in time. The former rowing rivals must now form a truly united team to ensure their own survival and restore hope to everyone else.
