On the shores of the White Sea, young thugs pull other fishermen's nets out in search of a catch. Timofei, a young city dweller, tries his luck for the first time and catches a small shark. His friends from the village rejoice at this unexpected catch and run to find a ferry. The young man couldn't bear the sight of the dying fish and cut the fillets with a knife, accidentally injuring the shark's gills. Back at the beach, the boys were angry with Timofei and wanted revenge. Frightened, he fled across the ice. Suddenly, a piece of ice broke off from the shore and carried him out to sea. He spent the night on the ice floe, tossing between fear and sleep. Beneath the ice, another world was revealed: bioluminescent seaweed, seals, and the shark, which transformed into a young Pomore girl with a scar.
