Based on the story of the same name by A.P. Chekhov
Pavel Ivanovich receives a love letter, written in beautiful handwriting: someone has invited him on a date. This mature, family-oriented gentleman hesitates for a long time; he has no desire to cheat on his wife. However, at the appointed hour, with a bouquet of flowers, he timidly heads to the meeting place, that is, to the old gazebo, and sees there the student Mitya—his wife's brother—who has also arrived with a bouquet. The rivals are about to fight, but then Pavel Ivanovich's legal wife appears and declares that she wrote the letters so she could kick everyone out of the house at the same time and wash the floors in peace.
