In a European town, local police and CIA officers arrested two Russian spies. Polina Smirnova, an attractive woman of about 25, arrived at a secret meeting with Russian illegal immigrant Andrei Tomilin, but her inept actions led to failure. But she is the daughter of an influential man, so her failure is put on hold. Tomilin was dismissed. All he has left is a small parental apartment, a modest pension and letters from his parents.
It unexpectedly turned out that some of the letters were written after the death of their parents. Major from the escort group Katya Livanova, the author of these letters, told how the parents lived and hinted that they had problems - some bank demanded to sell their land in a prestigious area of the region. Tomilin finds this story suspicious and begins his own investigation.
