Plot synopsis
Railways in Russia are like a circulatory system that connects and nourishes the most remote corners of the country's huge organism. How did the history of Russian railways begin, how was this grandiose network created and what were the first Russian stations? The film tells the story of railway junctions and the role that trains played in the life of society both in the 19th century and in the life of current generations. The main hero of the film is the Vitebsk railway station, which with its recent reconstruction has regained its elegant appearance of the century before last.
