Irina Volkova est née et a grandi sur la péninsule de Taïmyr, dans la colonie Khatanga, en Sibérie. Elle sort réalisatrice de fiction et documentaires des High Courses of Scriptwriters and Film Directors. Primée dans de nombreux festivals internationaux, elle vit et travaille aujourd’hui à Moscou.
