Born in 1949 in Zhuravlinka of the Cherkassy region.
Served in the Navy, worked as a smelter, loader,
geologist, war correspondent. In 1980 he graduated
from the scriptwriting department of VGIK, class of
N.Figurovsky. In 1990-1995 served as an editor-inchief
of Lenfilm Studio, then became its deputy art
director. Author of screenplays and prose, published in
periodical press. Director and scriptwriter of the film
«Ships Entered the Harbour» (2006). His second
feature «Day of the Beast» won special jury prize at
the VIII International Film Festival «Spirit of Fire».
