Pyotr Mamonov was born on April 14, 1951 in Moscow. Until 1979 he studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Technical School. From 1979 to 1982 he studied at the editorial faculty of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. At first he worked as a printer at the "Red Proletarian" printing house. From 1984 to 1990 he was the leader and soloist of the rock band "Zvouki Mou" (Звуки Му). From 1991 to 1995 he was the leader and soloist of the band "Mamonov and Alexei". He also worked on contracts at the Stanislavsky Theatre.
