Born in 1976 in the city of Asha, Chelyabinsk Region. First trained as mountain engineer (drilling) and worked at the oil deposits in Western Siberia.
Graduated from the St Petersburg University for Film and Television SPbGUKiT (2005, directors’ workshop of V. Bortko and I. Khamraev).
Filmed some episodes of the serial “Streets of Broken Lights 10” – series “Solo for a Pistol with an Orchestra”, “Swallows’ Nest”, etc., and made films for television. “Thirst” is his debut in cinema.
