Graduated from the Moscow School of Crafts and Art. She worked as a puppet maker.
Since 1931, she has been a set and puppet artist in the films of A.L. Ptouchko.
In 1936, she made her debut as a director. She directed the first Soviet film shot using the “three flowers” method (“The Fox and the Wolf”). She taught courses for puppeteers and phase sculptors in 1936.
Since 1945, she has worked at Mosfilm as a decorator, costume designer, sculptor (she works in particular on the feature films Sadko, Ilya Muromets, Viy). She never returned to directing.
