Plot synopsis
In 1944, a group of Russian prisoner soldiers led by Nikolai Ivushkin managed to flee Germany in a half-destroyed T-34 tank.
Year 1941. In the battles of the Volokolamsk region the tank of the second lieutenant Ivouchkine destroys the regiment of tanks of captain Claus Jager and is itself destroyed. Two remaining Soviet tankers, Ivan Ivushkin and the mechanic Vassilionok, find themselves prisoners for three years.
In the spring of 1944, the Wermacht general staff entrusted the ace of the armored divisions, Jager, with the command of the Ordfur polygon to make it a training center for elite armored vehicles, targeting new T-34s recovered from the front. Jager and Ivushkin then meet for the second time. The Soviet tanker, despite the opposition of his comrades and the clandestine organization of the camp, agrees to lead the group of prisoners destined to be "cannon fodder" on the T-34s.
On D-Day, the high command of the general staff arrives at the polygon, but nothing goes as planned: Ivushkin takes advantage of the opportunity to carry out his minutely prepared flight. Thanks to the heroism of his comrades and the confusion in the German troops, the Soviet tankers found themselves free. In front of them the German campaign which escaped the war and 350 km to the Czech border, and on their heels a dozen "Panthers" tanks commanded by one of the best Reich tankers, Claus Jager.
