Plot synopsis
The film keeps only some parts of the novel. At first- Taras Boulba welcomes his two sons who come back from the university. Having proved that they are still robust, he leaves with them for the campaign against the Poles who then dominate the Ukraine. But Andrey, one of his sons, falls in love with a Polish woman. He decides to become a soldier of the Polish army. The father does not understand this treason and kills his son.
