The 3 films are based on the book of the 14th century English writer Geoffrey Chaucer. The pilgrims going to Canterbury to venerate the relics of Thomas Becket, in order to pass the time on the way, tell their stories to each other, and the judge chosen by them decides whose story is better. Accurate and vigorous folk language, risky situations in which the characters find themselves, genuine fun, salty jokes, and all-conquering laughter - all this can be found in abundance in the film.
