Together with other pilgrims they get to Gorky where they learn about Lenin’s death. They head for Red Square. Stalin ascends the rostrum and vows faith to Lenin’s ideas. After that Varvara Petrova hands him the letter. When the war breaks out Varvara Mikhailovna will send her children off to defend the Motherland.
