Thousands of books were written and hundreds of films were made about The Yalta Conference of 1945 where Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill determined the fate of the post-war world. One would think there is nothing else left to say about those events. But not so long ago thanks to research of famouse Russian historian William Pokhlebkin we have gained access to the details of ambitious culinary effort – a number of banquets that were held during negotiations of allies incompletely devastated and drained Crimea during that hard still war-time winter.
