Plot synopsis
Vertov's original idea for a film about Lenin morphed into a film about the effect of his life and teaching, and a meditation on some who had changed the most - the women of Central Asia. As expressed in these women's songs, for them Lenin meant freedom, his death a tragic blow, his teachings the basis of their future life.
