Based on the vaudeville-joke by P.Grigoriev . Old actor Mikhail Lisichkin after his resignation from the theater decided to leave for the province and to marry off his daughter to retired warrant officer Ushitsa. To avoid this marriage Verochka changes her dresses and appears either as a Gypsy, or a call boy and disrupts the wedding. She is accepted to the theater. The father is happy - their dynasty won't stop.
