Comedy.
The Isaevs live in the small town of Zarechensk. They are teachers at the
local school: Dmitri teaches history, alla teaches the first-graders. Dima
considers himself an intellectual, a philosopher even; he reads a lot and
takes offence when people are not knowledgeable, wishing from the bottom
of heart to improve their lot. But the people drink and have fun – because
there are kind and good people on earth, for whose sake it is worth living
like that.
